Upon moving to Kelowna in 1977, one of his first tasks was obtaining the approvals for the "Executive House" 12 storey tower in Kelowna. Over the span of his land development work, Mr. Bassett has been instrumental in the creation of well over 3,000 residential housing units for over 50 individual developers. Whether you are planning to split a single lot into two parcels or create a complete residential community with recreational and commercial facilities, Bassett Spagnuolo can handle your project with the ease that only solid experience can provide.
We have also assisted fellow law firms with their local client's developments on a consulting basis and can assist you with any project, large or small. If you wish to deal with your long time company lawyer but need land development expertise, ask your lawyer to call us to discuss a consulting agreement.

WILLS AND ESTATES:
At Bassett Spagnuolo, we make a concentrated effort to ensure that each of our clients has a valid and current Last Will and Testament on file. It seems to be human nature that most of us tend to procrastinate about making or updating our wills. However, the problems left for family and friends to sort out when there is no Will are an unnecessary burden. Many people will use the phrase..."if I die.., when they should be saying ..."when I die..". A comedian once said about life..."we're not going to get out of here alive you know!" So accepting such sage advice, we should prepare for the inevitable and make sure that OUR wishes are carried out and not those of the government or the law makers. If you choose not to make a will, then the provisions of the Estate Administration Act will dictate what will happen your assets. For a "Tongue in Cheek" look at what effect these rules will have on your family, see You Have A Will, Whether You Choose to or Not in our Articles Section. Use your browser's "back" button to return to this page
If you already have a Will, then you should also ensure that it is reviewed at least every five years to make sure that it continues to reflect your wishes and complies with the latest developments in the continuing battle to save as many dollars as possible from the taxman. Contact Bob Bassett today to have your existing Will reviewed.
POWERS OF ATTORNEY:
When incapacity strikes, it can leave a family with few alternatives. An Enduring Power of Attorney is a tool that allows your trusted family members to handle your affairs for you if you are incapable of doing so yourself. Enduring Powers of Attorney will be utilized for handling all financial matters. Representation Agreements will be used only for health care issues. Everyone over 60 should consider an Enduring Power of Attorney as an essential element in their Estate Planning. Contact Bob Bassett today to discuss these matters further.
